Both strands shared the conviction that the increasing complexity of intellectual property law called for a new kind of European law firm. One that combines deep technical expertise with a cross-border perspective, and that treats IP not as a side practice but as a core mission. In 2016, both firms united and yes, the name became even longer. HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER. A name reflecting the firm’s well established reputation and fully suited to meet future challenges, as HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER was able not only to assemble teams of IP specialists of an unprecedented quality and scale, but also spoke as one team, guided by one shared vision for how to handle IP cases, and fluent in many legal and technical languages. In 2019, this group of IP passionists was further pushed by the arrival of a large part of the French Véron firm known for excellent patent work and spearheading the European developments alike. Its culture of rigour, independence of mind and deep European instinct fit immediately. So... **why marking ten years?** Because now, all pieces have fallen into place. Not in a ‘*collection of offices or legacies’*. But One team. One culture. One way of working. A team that no longer needs to explain itself: deliberately multinational, shaped by shared values rather than passports. Teams form around cases. Strategies are debated across borders. Strong views are encouraged. All to best serve our clients needs. Our clients are facing some of the most complex technological, commercial and societal challenges of our time — where innovation, competition and responsibility collide. We work side by side with them because complex problems call for a direct and trusted communication. Listening is not a courtesy in our culture; it is how good strategies are born. Ten years is not about age. It’s about coherence, co-working, co-building. A moment of joy and pride and foremost deep gratitude: for the clients who entrust us with their most critical matters, for the people who have built this firm with commitment and generosity, and for the friends and colleagues across Europe and beyond with whom we continue to collaborate and to strive. We do IP. One Team. Onwards.
