Peter Haartsen

Peter is a European, Dutch and Belgian patent attorney who specialises in IT and ICT. His fields of expertise involve electrical engineering, telecommunication technology, mobile telecommunication systems and services, computer systems, software applications and mobile apps (computer-implemented inventions), graphical user interfaces (GUIs), Internet related solutions, conditional access systems, electronic program guides (EPG), fingerprinting / watermarking, cryptography and semiconductor lithography.

Before becoming a patent attorney, Peter worked at the research department of a large telecom operator in the field of telecommunication networks, in particular in the field of fixed telephony (PSTN, ISDN) and mobile networks (GSM, GPRS, UMTS). He entered the Intellectual Property profession in 2002 at the same telecom operator and worked at a patent prosecution firm for seven years before joining HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER.
