This is more than a lateral hire. Constanze and Pablo bring an established practice, longstanding relationships and immediate depth to HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER’s Madrid Soft IP offering; a partner who brings more than two decades of experience, a team member who has worked alongside her for years, and a practice that fits naturally with HRM's own DNA: sophisticated portfolio work paired with strategic, contentious and cross-border thinking.
Constanze joins after more than 20 years at Hogan Lovells Cadwalader in Spain, where she was a partner since 2012 and led the Spanish domestic trademark prosecution team. She has extensive experience in trademark prosecution and portfolio strategy before the Spanish PTO and EUIPO, brand protection and enforcement, and the international coordination of trademark disputes, together with a recognised profile in geographical indications. Her practice is highly international, built on longstanding relationships with a number of major global companies. She is Chair of INTA's Geographical Indications Committee and is well recognised across the leading IP directories.
Pablo brings with him proceedings expertise before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, trademark filing strategy, oppositions, appeals, cancellation proceedings and portfolio management. Having worked closely with Constanze since 2017, he adds immediate continuity and operational depth to the team from day one.
Together, they strengthen HRM's Madrid trademark prosecution and brand protection practice, deepening the interaction between prosecution and litigation locally, and creating opportunities across the firm's other offices and clients. Following the recent strengthening of the Paris Soft IP team with Pïerre Pérot and Camille Abba, this is another clear sign of the momentum HRM is building in Soft IP across Europe.
Constanze Schulte, comments: “What attracted me to HRM is the combination of genuine European integration and a very strong contentious IP culture. Trademark portfolio work does not exist in isolation: the best advice comes from understanding how brands are actually protected and enforced across jurisdictions. Pablo and I are very much looking forward to bringing our practice into that environment and building the Madrid team from there.”
Benoît Strowel, Managing Partner of HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER, adds: "Constanze brings a practice that complements our own perfectly. Bringing her and Pablo on board is an important step in the next chapter of our Madrid Soft IP practice."
