Alba is training to become a Dutch and European patent attorney in the Chemistry area with a focus on biotechnology and microbiology.
Alba has an understanding of subjects like virology, microbiology, biotechnology, synthetic biology, next generation sequencing, bioinformatics, vaccinology and biological chemistry. She holds a MSc in Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Edinburgh, where she specialized in polymer production using engineered bacteria.
Before joining HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER, Alba was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie PhD fellow at an international pharmaceutical company. Her field of research was discovery and characterization of novel viruses affecting livestock populations. She specialized in metagenomics, diagnostics, vaccine development and genetic engineering. Alba (co-)authored several publications in virology and life science journals.
