Dr. Nico Schur

Associate

Nico Schur advises and represents national and international clients in intellectual property law. The focus of his work lies in strategic legal advice and (cross-border) litigation, in particular in patent infringement proceedings. Moreover, he specialises in drafting license agreements.

Nico Schur studied law at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen. After his studies, he began his PhD at the Chair for Civil Law, Unfair Competition and Intellectual Property Law, Media and Information Law of Prof. Dr. Andreas Wiebe. In addition to his PhD studies, he worked there as a research fellow and assisted the chair in teaching and legal research, especially on unfair competition and copyright law.

In 2020, Nico Schur received his PhD with his thesis “The Licensing of Data“. He is also a speaker and author of papers on the legal protection of machine generated data and on data contract and license agreement law.

Nico Schur completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf working, inter alia, in a chamber for trademark law at the Regional Court of Düsseldorf, for an international law firm in the intellectual property team, and for HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER.
