Trainee Patent Attorney

Yang is currently training to become a European patent attorney in the field of chemistry, with a focus on polymer science, soft matter, and life sciences. He has a strong interdisciplinary background in chemical engineering, microfluidics, and materials science.

Yang completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Toronto on an Ontario Trillium Scholarship. His doctoral research focused on the mechanics of fibrous hydrogels under confinement and their behavior in complex flow geometries. He later continued his research at UMC Utrecht, working on organ-on-a-chip technologies and collaborating with biomedical and pharmaceutical researchers across institutions.

Before joining HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER, Yang was involved in multi-institutional collaborations across academia and clinical research. He is passionate about bridging science and law to support innovation in high-impact fields.
