Thomas H. Schmitz, Rechtsanwalt seit 1998, berät inländische und ausländische Mandanten in verschiedenen Gebieten des gewerblichen Rechtsschutzes, insbesondere im Marken- und Designrecht, im Wettbewerbs- und Urheberrecht. Er ist ein erfahrener Prozessanwalt mit Schwerpunkt im Bereich widerrechtlicher Nachahmungen und Markenverletzungen. Seine Tätigkeit umfasst weiter die Beratung bei der Entwicklung von Werbe- und Marketingstrategien und bei der Produktentwicklung. Er entwirft und verhandelt Lizenz- und Kooperationsverträge und berät bei dem Erwerb und der Übertragung gewerblicher Schutzrechte.
Schon während seines Studiums an den Universitäten in Köln und Lausanne spezialisierte Thomas H. Schmitz sich auf den gewerblichen Rechtsschutz. Diese Spezialisierung vertiefte er weiter in verschiedenen Rechtsanwaltskanzleien sowie in der Rechtsabteilung eines großen Telekommunikationsunternehmens. Thomas Schmitz ist außerdem Dozent an der Hagen Law School und Gastdozent an der Universität Maastricht.
